I gathered with some former colleagues and our dinner appointment was set up at Mookata, Bugis Junction. I’ve never tried Mookata nor heard of it, and my friends went crazy with the ordering.

At first I thought it was a typical Japanese restaurant (and I mistook Yoogane for it), but to my greatest surprise, it was Thai BBQ!

Here’s the video of the sizzling from the unique hotpot. There’s this wonderful moat around the sizzle plate. There’s one particular type of beef that’s marinated with really nice sauce. Please do go for Mookata, it’s so delicious!

P.S.: Here’s an expert tip for you – do pour the soup on the meat that’s on the sizzle plate, and have the soup trickle down into the moat! Yums!
