I had an official business meeting, ah hem, so we thought one possible place to bring our partners was Soup Restaurant, which offered a conducive environment for a meal and to discuss work matters.

The Soup Restaurant that we went to was the United Square branch, which was really spacious for a weekday lunch. There was a cosy room-like booth for the 7 of us, and we settled in as the menus were handed out to us.

We ordered three dishes – the first being Hometown Tofu. This simple dish of freshly handmade tofu brought back a taste of traditional life. We paired the tofu with some greens as you can see below.

What followed these dishes was the main highlight – Samsui Chicken. This delicious dish got its name as it was a traditional dish consumed by Samsui women in Chinatown. Due to their low income, the Samsui Ginger Chicken was only consumed once a year, during Chinese New Year.

Dip the soft steamed chicken into the amazingly fragrant ginger sauce and you’re good to go. For that extra crunch, wrap your chicken slices in lettuce!

The meeting went very well, with perfect decor, a quiet environment, and really helpful waitresses. Thank you for the memorable experience!
