I can’t believe I went for the Singapore Garden Festival 2018. Thank goodness I took a bus to Gardens by the Bay, otherwise the car queue for the carpark would have driven me nuts! (Not like I have a car).

The stunner of the night was definitely seeing Vanda Miss Joaquim in person. It’s a really classy and beautiful flower, and I’m so proud that Singapore adopted this strain as our national flower. The photo does not do the flower justice. You have to see it in person.

As you can guess, the theme this year is orchids! For a very local experience, the curators have designed the Gardens with Peranakan detailing like shoes, and tingkats. These red shoes are really huge! Check out the size of the shoes next to the beautiful orchid plants.

I went at night, so this is how Gardens by the Bay looks at night from within the dome.

This structure below is where most people stand under for a couple or family shot. It’s the main structure there.

Here are the rows and rows of Tingkats. I found this section pretty eerie at night, but in the daytime it should look really nice.

As you can see, I wasn’t too impressed by the orchids (except for Vanda Miss Joaquim), but well, it was still an experience.
