Where to Date: Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa @ Alexandra Village Food Centre

It was a lovely Saturday and my husband and I decided to bring grandma out for lunch. Being the no. 1 foodie, my grandma decided to try the famous Claypot Laksa at Alexandra Village Food Centre.

My husband joined the queue while the both of us sat down to wait. The poor guy had to queue for more than half an hour! I think we couldn’t wait any longer, so grandma bought chwee kueh for us to share while we waited for the laksa.

When the laksa came, I have to say that I was kind of underwhelmed. There was very little curry. Though it was indeed delicious, I was so disappointed with the amount of curry given. As a result, the dish became a tad too watery for me.

There are $3, $4, and $5 options, and you can also choose to add more noodles. Hopefully the next time we’re back, the stall could provide a little more curry, which was the highlight of the dish. Thank you in advance!

Where to Bring Friends: Pek Kio Market and Food Centre

If you are tired of cookie-cutter shopping malls, fret not! I have found a gem of a place at Pek Kio. Even at noontime, the food centre is clean, cool and spacious. I really love this place!

There are a few famous stalls at Pek Kio. One is the famous prawn noodles (in the next photo). If you patronise the stall regularly enough, the auntie will recognise your order! #truestory

For me, I decided against joining the queue since my hunger pangs were starting. I spotted Xin Xin Yong Tau Fu stall at #01-05 and felt my mouth watering because I saw laksa!

There you have it, Laksa Yong Tau Fu at $4 or $5. Yummy!

Everything was right about this laksa dish. I actually am feeling the hunger pangs again while typing this post! Omg! I’ve got to go back!
